Golf and More in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

Known for having the world’s longest floating dock as well as the Floating Green, Coeur d’Alene s is the perfect summertime destination! We recently spent a few days of our vacation in this beautiful town.

During our time in Coeur d’Alene, we stayed at the Couer d’Alene Resort. Situated lakeside, the resort has a number of outdoor activities for it’s guests. It also has a spa, several dining options, a gift shop, and more. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio listening to live music on our first evening here.

Our resort stay package included a round of golf. The Coeur d’Alene Golf Course is an 18-hole course, with the world-famous floating green. We took the boat over to the golf course an hour and a half prior to our tee time.

After checking in at the clubhouse, we were introduced to our caddie. Then, we were paired with another couple to play. They were easy-going like us, and we enjoyed getting to know them!

To get to the Floating Green, you’ll be escorted by your caddie to a boat, which will take you over and back. The boat has a fitting name – Putter.

After golf, we explored the nearby town of Coeur d’Alene. It’s walkable from the resort and has shops, restaurants, coffee, entertainment, and more.

We dined on the patio at Capone’s. This restaurant has a neat atmosphere inside, a large outdoor patio, and a variety of great pub food. The restaurant has even been featured on DDD twice!

The following morning, we walked a few blocks into town and stopped in the Vault coffee shop. We enjoyed our morning coffee as we walked through town.

On our way back to the resort, we found Bean & Pie located inside Evan’s Brother’s Coffee shop. We enjoyed a few of their homemade fried pies. I had the huckleberry and the hubs had the breakfast sampler and biscuits/gravy. YUM!

We continued our walk back to the resort, passing by McEuen park where there’s a waterfall memorial for first responders.

We noticed several bronze moose statues throughout the town of Coeur d’Alene. We learned that they are part of the Mudgy Moose trail, which covers 2 1/4 miles throughout town. Below is a map showing their locations.

Coeur d’Alene provided a wonderful, lakeside retreat with plenty of experiences!

If your visit allows, you can travel 35 to 40 minutes to the west and arrive in the wonderful city of Spokane, Washington. It’s another place with waterfront dining, waterfalls, and more!
