Make Memories in Montego Bay, Jamaica

In July of 2021, my husband and I visited Montego Bay, Jamaica for a 5 night stay at Sandals Royal Caribbean.

We flew into Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay. Prior to our vacation, we booked Club MoBay for arrival and departure. On arrival, Club MoBay allows you to have someone escort you through immigration, customs, and security. This is more of a “fast track” service. Afterwards, you can go to the lounge where you’ll have access to snacks, drinks, and private restrooms. On your departure, you’ll be able to visit the Club MoBay Lounge again and enjoy the complimentary bar, snacks, and private restrooms. We highly recommend Club MoBay – it is well worth every penny!

This was our first time having a butler at Sandals. Upon arrival to the resort, we were greeted in the concierge lounge. We had lunch at the beach bar then our butler escorted us to our room. The butlers gave us a cell phone to use for communication with them (call or text) if we had questions or needed something. We had two butlers serving us throughout our stay, and they were phenomenal. They spoiled us with random snacks and drinks throughout the day, reserved our beach or pool chairs daily, provided drinks in a cooler for our beach/pool chair location. Additionally, they took care of all of our dinner arrangements/reservations, and made sure we were having a wonderful vacation. We were truly spoiled!

Since we primarily wanted to relax on this trip, we were thankful to be on a smaller resort with access to all of the amenities nearby. And, it was just a short 10 minute ride to the resort from the airport.

The resort had beautiful grounds, fun daytime and nightly entertainment, as well as excellent food and service. The staff were all so professional and kind. Everyone we met had a smile on their face and made sure guests were taken care of.

The beach and pool areas at Sandals Royal Caribbean were never crowded during our time here. And, Sandals owns a private island that guests can visit while staying at SRC. We enjoyed taking the little dragon boat over to the Sandals private island one full day, relaxing at the pool and beach area on Sandals Cay. We even had a delicious lunch brought to us from the Jerk Shack on the island. On another evening, we took the dragon boat over to the island for our dinner reservation at the Royal Thai restaurant. On this particular evening, the chef even came out to see how our dining experience was. Overall, the private island was immaculate and a true highlight of our vacation!

The nightly entertainment included live shows as well as a silent disco night. We have the best memories of the silent disco night. This is where guests wear a set of headphones. The headphones have two channels, and a different DJ is on each channel. Guests were singing, dancing, laughing, and just having a wonderful time. We had a blast!

On our final night at the resort, we had reservations to dine at Butch’s, which is located nearby at the Sandals Montego Bay. Our butlers arranged for the shuttle to take us over to Sandals Montego Bay that evening. We appreciated the opportunity to be able to walk around and visit another Sandals resort. It is neat to see the similarities and differences among each property. Prior to our dinner, we enjoyed a beverage at an outdoor bar surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Then, after our dinner, we found the Latitudes over the water bar and lounge. We sipped on a cocktail and savored the sounds of the ocean waves while watching the sunset on our last evening in paradise! Finally, we strolled to the front lobby to catch our shuttle back to SRC.

Our time in Montego Bay was incredible and we look forward to returning to Jamaica soon!
