Holiday Fun and More in OKC
Oklahoma City is the capitol of Oklahoma. It’s also the home to the NBA championship team, the Oklahoma City Thunder. We visit the city several times a year, and there’s always something unique to do!

Recently, we enjoyed brunch at the Tellers. It’s located in The Great Hall inside the First National Bank Building in downtown OKC. The Great Hall was once the bank lobby, with large columns and unique architecture. The Tellers restaurant serves weekend brunch, nightly dinner, and afternoon tea. And, guests might even be seated in an area near some of the original bank teller counters.

The holiday decorations at the Tellers are immaculate. From the massive Christmas tree to the multiple themed areas with Christmas decorations, the place is a “must visit” for all! Not to mention, there might even be a Santa visit.

The National Hotel is located in the building along with shops on the lower level. And, the old bank vault has been transformed into a speakeasy, known as The Vault.

There are many restaurants, hotels, and concert venues in downtown Oklahoma City. The Paycom Center, where the OKC Thunder play, often hosts well-know performers. Additionally, The Criterion and Tower Theater are popular concert venues. We dined inside the Black Walnut before attending a concert at the Criterion.

Another popular area with restaurants is the Bricktown District. There is also a canal that runs through the district. There’s also the Bricktown Ballpark, where the triple-a minor league team, Oklahoma City Comets play.

The National Cowboy Museum provides artifacts and information on western history and culture. It features a number of exhibits and galleries, as well as special events throughout the year.

The Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum remembers all who were affected by the Oklahoma City Bombing on April 19, 1995. These grounds share the story of hope, bravery, and courage even in the midst of tragedy. I have visited the memorial and stood near the survivor tree. It’s a reminder of how precious life is and how hope and resilience bring a community together, even in the toughest of times.
Just outside of Oklahoma City, on Route 66, is the small town of Arcadia. The famous Pops diner is a Route 66 icon that can’t be missed with it’s large pop bottle sculpture out front. You can expect to see many tourists taking pictures, filling up their car with gas, or stopping in for a burger. And Pops has over 600 kinds of soda!
