How to Spend a Day in Caye Caulker
After spending multiple days in the town of San Pedro on Ambergris Caye, we took the Belize Express water taxi over to the island of Caye Caulker.

We arrived right in the heart of town, and were able to walk to our resort. Magic Island Resort is a family-owned property in Caye Caulker, Belize. Our room was on the 4th floor and had an ocean view.

After getting settled into our room, we ventured around the island. It’s very walkable although there are some golf carts and bicycles around town. We perused different shops along the road by the beach, then made it over to the Split.

Caye Caulker was hit by Hurricane Hattie in 1961, and the island was split in two. The channel in between the sections of the island is filled with calm, turquoise water! The south part of the island is where most travelers arrive by boat; however, there is a good amount of development happening on the north side.

The Split has a seawall, but there are steps to enter down into the water. Most people hang out at the Lazy Lizard or the Sip N Dip. Both places are very popular!

We enjoyed dining at Sip N Dip for food and drinks. We shared Nachos, while we admired the view. The water was gorgeous on this sunny January day!

Afterwards, we continued our walk around town. We came across a local brewery. The Caribbean Fusion Brewing Company had a rooftop, open-air patio. There, we enjoyed a drink in the sunny breeze!

We made our way back to Magic Island Resort for some late afternoon pool time. It was the perfect end to our day in Caye Caulker. And, from the balcony of our room, we caught an epic sunset!

In the evening, it started to rain while we were out. So, we stopped in Roy’s Blue Water Grill for a drink to let the rain pass.

For dinner, we went to Il Pellicano for some Italian fare. I had the snapper while my husband enjoyed a spicy chicken spaghetti dish. Everything was delicious! We also enjoyed the lovely entertainment from a young musician while we dined!

The following morning, we took a walk down to Ice N Beans for coffee and breakfast. And, oh the view….just incredible!! We could sit here all day!

After our leisurely morning, we walked back to Magic Island Resort to check-out. They provided golf cart transportation to the Caye Caulker airport. We had a short, 15-minute flight on Tropic Air over to Belize City. The plane held 11 passengers, one of which was in the co-pilot seat. We were seated right behind the pilot and had the best fly-over views!

We enjoyed every minute of our time in Caye Caulker and San Pedro. Belize is a wonderful beach destination!
