What to See on the Island of Grenada
My husband and I enjoyed a week-long stay on the Caribbean island of Grenada in 2019. The island is not only known for it’s coastal beaches and organic chocolate and spices, but it’s also known to be one of the friendliest countries to visit in the Caribbean Sea.
Our all-inclusive vacation at Sandals Grenada included a variety of activities. One evening the resort had a Paint and Sip experience, with a local painter on the island. I was able to create a beautiful painting on canvas of the beach and ocean.
During our stay at Sandals Grenada, we were able to take a private island tour. We began the day with a visit to the world-famous Grande Anse Beach. We walked along the shore, admiring the beautiful turquoise ocean and white sand. Our next stop was the Annandale waterfall, which is surrounded by tropical gardens. There is a paved path that leads to the amazing view of the water. Then, we drove through the town of St. George and St. George’s University. We learned about SGU’s popular medical school that serves many foreign medical students. Our driver then took us to a scenic view, on a mountaintop where we could see miles and miles of the country below.
The last stop of our tour was to the West Indies Beer Company. We sat at the brewery bar, and visited with the local brewer who helped us pick some beers to enjoy. He told us about the brewery and the annual Chocolate Festival in Grenada. In fact, they had several chocolate specialty beers still on tap for guests to enjoy. It was a great end to a wonderful day of sightseeing!
We had a wonderful vacation and enjoyed the island of Grenada. This Sandals resort is also just a short 15 minute drive from Maurice Bishop International Airport.
